The Caryatids

I've always liked these kind of statues: Caryatids. As wikipedia says, they're "sculpted female figures serving as an architectural support". These ones mark the entrance to the Chilean Supreme Court, in the Court Palace I showed you yesterday.

its realliy impressive...it seems the buildings for courts are similar everywhere somehow refering to the roman/greek roots of our recent legal systems. At least in Budapest the athmosphere is similar.

Great blog and nice photo.
There are some similar ones in "Museo de Bellas Artes" if I remember correctly.
