The Chilean President

I guess that many of you didn't know that Chile has a woman President. Michelle Bachelet is the first woman to hold the position of President of Chile. Here you can see her saluting the public at the Army Parade. Seating next to her is our woman Minister of Defense, Vivianne Blanlot. Someone's thinking about Girl Power?

sure, I don't know about a female president in Chile, maybe it's good news when there's not much news about Chile in the international page of newspapers. An unusual shot you've got here. ;-)

I have to confess I didn't know, and I feel bad about it. I am not reading enough about the world. Is she a good president? The bodyguard presence is impressive !

In France, polls will be taken in 2007 to elect a new President.

A socialist (left wing party) woman called Ségolène Royal, who could become the official socialist candidate in 2007, met Michelle Bachelet a few months ago. That is the reason why I knew Michelle Bachelet was Chile's President ...

Besides that, Michèle Alliot-Marie (from the main French right wing party) is a woman who nowadays runs the French Department of Defence.
