This mummy is located in the National Museum of Natural History and belongs to a child.
It was found in 1954 at 5.400 meters above sea level, in El Plomo Hill.
This one is actually a reproduction. The real one is stored in a special container to avoid its damage due to light and humidity.
impressionnante cette momie et tres bien conservée. tu peux prendre des photos sans probleme dans le musée ?
ReplyDeleteimpressive this mummy and preserved very well. you can take photographs without problem in the museum?
Fascinating shot showing a person from so long ago. The reproduction looks very real.
ReplyDeleteSi que impresiona, se sabe la antiguedad mas o menos...
ReplyDeleteme gusta la arqueología.
Saludos.
How Bizarre.
ReplyDeleteOlivier: You can't take pictures inside museums. I take risks for the CDP community, I'm quite a hero you know, LOL. I'm very responsible though and never use the flash inside the museum.
ReplyDeletemi foto: En realidad no recuerdo la antigüedad. Lo busqué pero no pude encontrar el dato.
I've been looking for just such a photo. In 2002 I climbed El Plomo, and a friend took me to the depression near the summit where this mummy was found. Serious endeavor to reach that point, even with modern crampons and piolet/ice axe! Impressive that they went to such great lengths to honor this child.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting the photo.
